Computer Science Pathway is an immersive program designed to introduce students to the fundamental principles of computing, encompassing key terms, concepts, and methodologies integral to the discipline. Through a blend of theoretical lessons and hands-on laboratory experiences, students gain proficiency in programming languages, algorithms, data structures, and software development. The curriculum places a strong emphasis on coding, problem-solving, cybersecurity, and understanding the hardware and software components of computing systems. Additionally, the courses provide insights into professionalism within the tech industry and explores various career opportunities available in this field.

Cybersecurity involves the protection of computer and network systems from theft, damage, or sabotage by detecting, analyzing, and responding to external threats. Software development involves using computer code to create, design, deploy and support computer software used across almost every computer system in society.

Upon successfully completing the sequenced courses in the Computer Science Pathway, students will earn industry-recognized credentials including certifications in Java SE 8 Certification. Furthermore, this pathway fulfills the 2 year foreign language requirement for most Universities.
