Marketing professionals are responsible for developing, implementing and managing a company’s marketing efforts, both through traditional and digital formats, in . To assess consumer demand, marketing managers evaluate the products and services offered by their own firm and its competitors. They also seek to identify new products or services and develop potential markets. Their main goal is to maximize profit and market share by satisfying customers’ wants and needs. From a larger perspective, Marketing involves all areas of starting and operating a business. Students learn nine functional areas: selling, promotion, pricing, purchasing, financing, risk management, marketing-information management, product/service planning and distribution.
This diverse career cluster prepares learners for careers in planning, managing and performing marketing activities to reach organization objectives.
Students in the Marketing Pathway also manage and operate the two School-Based Enterprises (LCHS Print Shop & Indian Outfitters). Marketing students also have the opportunity to be a member of Career Tech Student Organization DECA. Marketing professionals create demand for their company’s products or services, persuading potential customers that their service will fulfill the customer’s needs. Marketing focuses on researching the marketplace, developing strategies and generating creative ideas.
