Welding
Welding class teaches the skills and techniques needed for welding. Welding is a process of joining materials, usually metals, by melting and fusing them together, often with the use of a filler material. We start with learning the fundamentals of welding, including the different types of welding processes (such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored Arc Welding), as well as the equipment and safety protocols involved.
We implement hands-on training that involves practical, hands-on experience. Students have the opportunity to work with welding machines and practice techniques on various materials.
Safety is a huge part of our classes, emphasizing the importance of proper protective gear, safe operating procedures, and how to handle welding equipment safely to prevent injuries and accidents.
Students also learn how to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols, which is crucial for understanding the specifications and requirements of welding projects.
Welding emphasizes basic welding laboratory principles and operating procedures. Safety, hand and power tool use, measurement, power sources and career potentials are areas of focus.
