Whenever possible it is the practice of the Lumpkin County School System to assign coaching duties to certificated employees of the school system. On occasion; however, a need arises to utilize community coaches.

All community coaches working with LCSS students, including those paid by Booster Clubs, must be approved by the Board of Education prior to beginning coaching duties.

To be Board approved to serve as a community coach, the following must be submitted to Human Resources prior to the monthly work session of the Board:

1. Community Coach application

2. Fingerprinting is scheduled at the Central Office. Please stop by the Central Office to schedule an appointment. The cost of fingerprints $ 48.00 and is due at time of fingerprinting.

3. Principal recommendation form

All high school community coaches are required to meet all policies and regulations in accordance with the GA High School Association (GHSA) Constitution and By-Laws. It is strongly recommended that all prospective community coaches be 21 years of age or older.
