Mr. Kirk and Coach Horton spent the day at the state capitol advocating for Lumpkin County High School and all member schools of Region 7-AAA. They were invited by the House leadership group to hear our story. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to share our experiences of not only the great things happening in our community, but some challenges we face as school leaders. Thank you Representative Will Wade for being an ear and advocate for us.

Lumpkin County High School FBLA partnered with FFA and hosted a district-wide food drive for the holidays. Schools partnered to raise 2775 cans of food to donate to the local food banks just in time for Christmas. The top collecting classroom at each school was rewarded with a pizza party or donut party. Top classrooms: Cottrell Elementary - Ms. McCrary, Long Branch Elementary - Mrs. Cromer, Blackburn Elementary - Mrs. Kingsbury, LCMS - Ms. Nichols, and LCHS - Mrs. Zdroba. What an amazing difference we can make when we come together!
