Thanksgiving Day lunch at LCHS was a HUGE HIT! We can't thank our LCHS cafe ladies enough for making this day special for our kids! And a big shout out to LCHS Administration for serving our students such a wonderful meal! Happy Thanksgiving from our table to yours!
Tomorrow we will enjoy our annual Thanksgiving Day lunch with our entire student body and staff. This year our turkeys were smoked on campus by our very own, Principal Kirk.

Homecoming Week has been a GREAT success! We can't wait to see everyone at the Homecoming Parade (3:30 pm) followed by the bonfire (6:00 pm) where our Homecoming King will be crowned!
LCHS is proud to announce that freshman Makayla Brooks created a Christmas Tree ornament that was selected to be displayed this year at the Georgia State Superintendent's office in Atlanta.
It is a double sided barn quilted ornament. The red and green side is symbolic of traditional Christmas colors while the flip side beautifully represents LCHS. Well done Makayla!

No field trips to the rainforest allowed...no problem! Ms. Westafer's classes visited the Gabon forest in the Congo today virtually to learn more about how locals are working to conserve their widely used resources.
Today HOSA organized steak dinners for all of our LCHS Veterans! We are honored to have these Veterans work with our students every day as teachers and mentors! Thank you for your service!

For many 2021 Seniors, today was the first time they realized that graduation is truly within reach. Today was spent enjoying some time-honored traditions including a picnic and pictures at the falls. What a remarkable group of students they are proving to be!

Environmental Awareness Club is back in full swing! Last week they worked to prepare 890 plastic bottles for recycling. This school year, club members have set a goal to recycle 6,000 bottles! Do your part, and recycle your bottle today!

FBLA has conducted a Halloween Safety program with LCES for the last 7 years. With COVID this year, they had to get creative! Members found a way to deliver and expand the program virtually to all 3 elementary schools! Additionally, the team partnered with local businesses to provide every elementary student in Lumpkin County Schools with Halloween candy. A big thank you to: Fudge Factory, Connie's Ice Cream Parlor, The General Store, Moore's Hardware, Grapevines, Grateful Days, and FBLA members for donating over 10,000 pieces of candy!

Mr. B's classes have been hard at work building footstools this past week. Today's assessment was pass or fail. To earn a passing grade, the footstool had to fully support one corner of a vehicle.
Students report that they have all successfully passed this assessment.
Lumpkin County was allotted 250 tickets for the North Hall game on Friday, Oct 23. There are still tickets available for that game. Tickets must be purchased online. Below is the link to purchase those tickets.
