Today teachers collaborated across several disciplines to create an incredible learning exercise regarding how to respond to a mass casualty event. Our students walked away from this learning exercise with tremendous respect for the men and women who work to take care of the multitudes in natural disasters, war, and other crisis events every day.

Congratulations to Dr. Gibbs for getting a grant that covered a student field trip to Barnes and Noble where students were able to help choose books for their classroom! Improving literacy is going to be a bit easier now that students can host classroom level "book clubs" reading and analyzing text from novels they helped choose.

Coach Howell’s Forensics class completed a Latent fingerprint lab last week. Students learned humans leave behind fingerprints almost every time they touch something even if they can’t see them. Latent prints are made by residue present on finger ridges. Students practiced dusting for prints by coating them with powder and “lifting“ them from the object to compare to other prints.
