The Lumpkin County School Systems Department of Special Education would like to extend an invitation to our private school representatives and parents of students who are registered receiving homeschool instruction to join us to receive information and provide input regarding special education services for Private/Homeschooled students in Lumpkin County. We will discuss the identification/child find process, proportionate share consultation, direct-provided services, and the district determination process. We look forward to having you join us. Both sessions will offer the same information.

The following topics will be discussed at the meeting:
- Child Find Process
- The determination of the proportionate share of Federal Funds available to serve parentally placed private school children with disabilities.
- How the consultation process among the LEA and parentally-placed private school children will take place.
- How, where, and by whom special education and related services will be provided.
- How, if the LEA representatives disagree with the views of the private school officials, how the LEA chose not to adopt the recommendation of the private school officials.
