Mr. Jason Lemley has been identified to lead the new Lumpkin County College and Career Academy. Mr. Lemley is a native of Lumpkin County, a graduate of Lumpkin County Schools, and has been employed in Lumpkin County Schools since 2007. He currently serves the district as the Director of Community Engagement and Career Technical Agricultural Education. He has previously served as a teacher and assistant principal.

Mr. Lemley has a Bachelor of Science in English Education from the University of Georgia. In addition, he has a Master of English Education and a Specialist in Educational Leadership from the University of North Georgia. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of Alabama.

“We are excited for Mr. Lemley to officially be named as the Chief Executive Officer of our new Lumpkin County College and Career Academy (LCCCA). In 2017, our school system began conversations about creating a career academy that would link Lumpkin students to careers through partnerships and pathways. Plans to pursue a career academy grant were established in early 2018 and the district immediately began working to secure state grant funds for the construction of a new facility. Mr. Lemley played an instrumental role in the career academy grant process while serving as the school’s CTAE Director since 2017. He visited numerous career academy sites across the state and he served as the point of contact for the Technical College System of Georgia. Mr. Lemley also led the team to write the career academy grant, to establish community feedback sessions, and to develop community partnerships for the LCCCA. Naming Mr. Lemley as the CEO of the LCCCA was a natural transition and we are excited for him to lead our efforts moving forward with a new title. Mr. Lemley will also continue to lead our efforts to foster community engagement and better public relations.”
